Felberturm Museum – Experience History Firsthand

The medieval Felberturm in the town center houses one of Salzburg’s most extensive local heritage museums. The exhibition tells of ancient trade routes, regional crafts, and life in the Pinzgau region. A highlight is the original farmhouse in the museum garden. In July, the museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, making it ideal for a rainy day or a cultural stopover.

Hintersee & Schößwendklamm – Pure Nature in Felbertal

Hintersee in the Felbertal valley is an alpine natural idyll, accessible via well-marked hiking trails. Along the Schößwendklamm gorge, wooden walkways lead through a wild canyon landscape – perfect for a varied half-day hike. At the destination, Hintersee awaits with crystal-clear water and views of the surrounding waterfalls.

Platte – Scenic Hiking with Views of the Tauern Mountains

For those seeking a slightly more challenging tour, Platte offers a rewarding destination. This approximately 1,787-meter-high panoramic peak can be reached from Mittersill in about 2.5 hours. Once at the top, an impressive panoramic view unfolds over the Salzach Valley, extending to the highest peaks of the Hohe Tauern.
