The highlight is of course the direct connection to the large Mittersill – Kitzbühel ski area, including a direct connection to the 170 kilometers of KitzSki pistes in the Kitzbühel Alps. With the Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen it goes up to the Resterkogel in Hollersbach. Now you have several runs open to you. When skiing in Mittersill, you can also think outside the box – with the huge Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, the Wildkogel Arena and the Zell am See-Kaprun region, including the Kaprun glacier ski area, only a short drive away.

Mittersill – Kitzbühel ski area

The heart of your winter holiday is of course the Mittersill ski area, the direct panoramic train connection between Hollersbach and Kitzbühel. Skiers and snowboarders can go straight to the middle of the Mittersill ski area or the Kitzbühel ski area with 170 kilometers of superbly groomed slopes. Numerous off-piste options, the thrilling Hanglalm snow park and excellent hut cuisine leave nothing to be desired. A detour to the legendary Kitzbühel Streif should also be on the program.

Wildkogel Arena Neukirchen & Bramberg

Do you prefer it a bit more comfortable? Then we recommend the Wildkogel Arena (approx. 17 km away) to you. In this ski region everything revolves around comfort and family friendliness with a focus on beginners and those returning to the sport. Of course, Neukirchen and Bramberg also have a lot to offer for racing drivers, boarders and deep snow enthusiasts.

Zell am See-Kaprun ski area

Three mountains with just as many ski regions are waiting around Lake Zell. The Maiskogel and Schmittenhöhe are popular family mountains. The range of slopes for young and old focuses on slowing down and winter enjoyment with great views and family-friendly offers. Those who are looking for a challenge, on the other hand, dare to climb the Kitzsteinhorn. In the glacier ski area there is alpine activity almost all year round. Spectacular descents and adrenaline-charged steep slopes alternate with snow parks and freestyle facilities for (budding) professionals.

Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn

One of the largest ski areas in the country is only 45 km from the Hotel Heitzmann on Mittersill’s town square. The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn in the Home of Lässig awaits you with varied 270 kilometers of slopes and the perfect mix of race tracks, beginner runs, fun and deep snow offers as well as the finest cuisine in various huts and mountain restaurants. There has recently been a direct connection between the Skicircus and the Schmitten and the Kitzsteinhorn in Zell am See-Kaprun at an attractive combined ticket price with a single pass. All ski and alpine fans get their money’s worth here.

The activities

Cross-country skiing

Nordic sports fans love the Mittersill-Hollersbach-Stuhlfelden region. Three cross-country trails lead through and around the place. Whether classic or skating, the magical winter landscape of Mittersill can be experienced up close here. We recommend the Hochmoor trail at 1,200 m above sea level. The view from the sunny plateau is incomparable!

Winter hiking and snowshoeing

Hiking in the Hohe Tauern National Park is not only popular in summer. Cleared and strewn winter hiking trails lead through all three villages and even in the middle of the park area. All you need for your tours is sturdy shoes. The guided hikes with national park rangers are a special highlight. Armed with snowshoes, you can even reach somewhat more remote spots. When building an igloo and touring, you will feel winter in its most original form.

In addition to lots of fun toboggan hills, there are two fantastic toboggan runs nearby. The moonlit natural toboggan run, which is illuminated in the evening, leads over 2.5 km downhill. One of the longest toboggan runs ever awaits you in Neukirchen / Bramberg. A proud 14 km invite you to a rapid descent that just doesn’t want to end. Not only the little ones will have a lot of fun with it.

Ice skating and sleigh rides

In addition to all this action, there should also be room for some quiet enjoyment. Wrapped tightly in a cozy blanket, move through the landscape on quiet runners on a horse-drawn sleigh ride and experience incomparable, romantic moments.
